Simon XTTM is a cost-effective security system that offers up to 40 zones of burglary and fire protection, and which complies with SIA False Alarm Standards. With a built-in display touchpad and a status speaker that provides visual and voice messages for feedback, Simon XT is well suited for houses, apartments, and condominiums.The Simon XT panel comes standard with 40 wireless zones, or it can be set up with 38 wireless zones and two built-in hardwired supervised burglary zones (normally-closed loop only). The built-in radio receiver works with both crystal and SAW LearnModeTM sensors.Simon XT supports off-premises telephone control to arm and disarm the system, check system status, activate no-entry delay, or activate the latchkey feature. With latchkey capabilities, the panel can be programmed to notify customers if the system has not been disarmed at a scheduled time.Simon XT supports convenient system operation from anywhere within the premises with the use of wireless touchpads. Choose from the Remote Handheld Touchpad, two-, four-, or five-button crystal or SAW Keychain Touchpads (keyfobs), or two-button ELM Keychain Touchpad. ELM (encrypted LearnMode) technology secures every keychain touchpad transmission. When powered by the optional line carrier transformer, adding X10-based modules lets customers control lights, appliances, and other devices.Simon XT can send messages to a central monitoring station using SIA or Contact ID (CID) formats. The panel can also report alarms to another land-line phone location or cell phone using Voice Event Notification. Built-in two-way voice capability with VOX (voice-activated switching) provides additional security and emergency contact with the control monitoring station.

I reviewed systems for 6 months on the internet just before deciding on this process.I wanted one,that had a lot of selections distinct sensors,and that would perform with my high speed connection.I bought:
1 GE xt control,with backup battery
1 telephone line hookup
2 wireless door sensors(for entry doors)
4 wireless door/window sensors(to use with window sensors)
16 2 wire magnetic window sensors(all my windows)
three motion detection sensors(upstairs basement)
1 external alarm speaker (outdoor or indoor kind)
1 roll 250 feet alarm wire 2 wire(you'll have to have for window sensors)
1 wallmount wireless fob(for arming disarming from a master bedroom)
2 vehicle keyfobs( for automobile keys,to arm disarm alarm)
1 DVD GE XT setup installation(can get from safemart.com)
2 alarm signs stickers(yet another security factor,that'll let a perp no wrong house to mess with,cheap to get)
two dummy cameras(nice to have about entry doors,one more great security measure,affordable to decide to purchase)
just after receiving anything I set all items on kitchen table,got DVD and watched it genuine fantastic and took notes,This DVD will price you 30 bucks,but particularly valuable as setup will be a breeze right after watching it.
I setup a front back door wireless alarm inside the top of the door and produced it no delay-instant alarm,when alarm is activated.the smoke detector i put on the primary floor,and made that a no delay instant alarm.
then setup the wireless window sensors,which 1 wireless sensor can be wired to cover 4 windows,which you want alarm wire to do.I did all my windows and was able to save some funds by not purchasing a whole bunch of wireless window sensors(which you could go that route if income is no solution).The DVD will show you how to wire these up to make it simpler for you.
then put in the wallmount keyfob in the bedroom so i could arm/diaarm when i go to bed.Then i mounted the motion sensors around the residence in principal locations basement.motion detectors were just optional, but i wanted additional blanket security in my dwelling.
You then have to have to run your telephone line into your telephone jack,or if you have high speed online theres optional devices you can do there,and aftermarket corporations that will help you there.you will need to spend a monthly or annual fee.You can also just set it up to call your cellphone,or straight to the police.I then ran a external outdoor speaker and mounted that in a different space away from the control module(the GE manage module has a ear piercing alarm built in as well).This is great when a perp breaks in it will be ear piercing loud.You can also setup as a silent alarm,to sctually call straight to you or your alarm enterprise.
I Then mounted the manage module to a wall in yet another space,but center located to pickup all the wireless items.At initial it seemed a lil confusing setting up the names,and each and every alarm sensor,but just after doing 1 or two,it was a breeze.You trip your wireless sensor,then the manage module detects it.then you can name is like front door,back door,most important room,bedrooms,basement Etc...,this is where you can also setup what level you want your sensors to be.rear door i produced it instant as its not utilised considerably,motion sensors are all instant as well.front door windows i give a 30 sec. delay,to let sufficient time to lock the home and leave.there is a ton of selections that you can set this this up.You can even get make this a silent alarm so a perp does not even know you have a alarm.
I setup a couple dummy cameras, and put 2 security signs in my yard stickers on a handful of windows for an added security measure.
This DIY GE xt alarm method will appear a lil complex devoid of the aftermarket DVD,but with it setup and operating will be a breeze.You will want the owners manual as well as a reference when setting it up as well.
I enjoy my alarm,and its peace of mind when i go to bed at night leave my premises.In todays age things our getting a lil rougher,and many people extra desperate.No one particular likes to be a victim,so protect oneself and get some thing like this.
For those who can not follow cooking recipes or rather simple instructions maybe it can be too hard for you and if so go to [...] and get a pre-programmed technique for an additional [...]$. For anyone else who isn't challenged this is a wonderful method that gives you really a handful of alternatives if you consider all the devices that are compatible.
