I've had my system for 6 months and just replaced the batteries in the motion detectors. I assume that making use of improved top quality batteries than those offered will mean altering them closer to when a year. Not bad at all, offered that I don't have to run any wires to these places.
I opted not to use the window/door sensors, as they appear somewhat tacky in my opinion. Instead, I got a couple added motion detectors to provide total coverage of my home. The sensors are somewhat adjustable. On the default setting, they do pick up my 4 pound dog.
In the past 6 months, I have not had any false alarms exactly where I could not determine the lead to. There have been numerous days where I forgot to disengage the method and walked perfect via the motion detection field. Certainly, I can't blame that on the process.
Overall, I'd say this is an amazing process for the value. The control pad looks kinda cheap, so I didn't prominently display it in my home. It is in a closet. The motion detectors are especially little and unobtrusive. I've told family members and friends that I have the alarm method and most of them didn't have any concept, as the detectors blend in quite properly.
Hi every person, i ordered the Skylink SC-100W (newer model) and received mine 2 days ago. I set it up yesterday. Since the technique comes pre-set it only took me 30 minutes. The only thing i had to adjust was the passcode. The motion detector alone would have been enough for me as that thing is as sharp as a needle. Since i have no pets and no kids i have mine on high and it really is wonderful. The window/door sensors took a bit of playing about with but they are operating fine (for now). I have my alarm on "Chime" mode considering the siren is highly loud, my ears had been ringing all night just after i had tested it. But i have superb comfort realizing i can use the panic button on my keychain to activate the siren if i feel i'm in danger. It really is so loud that my neighbours will hear it and will be calling 911 in no time. I had the alarm on all night and had no false alarms. It has only been 1 night but i am very happy with the technique. I'm told this a newer model, i am not quite positive how it differs from the Skylink SC 100 Deluxe Kit. If anyone could tell me the difference that would be superb. All in all i'm fairly happy with the process and i am giving it four stars since of how sharp the motion sensor is and because the siren is tremendously loud. I sleep nicely at night....really well.
